The mini skirt is a must-have for Spring Summer, and I decided to do color blocking with a pink mini skirt. As a neutral style lover, this is a challenge, but I’m excited to play with my wardrobe.
For this outfit ideas example, I’m wearing pink, but you can, of course, color block with any color of your preference. Here are some cute finds for inspiration.
The “edgy barbie” look
Because this look is on the casual side can be worn in many situations, from just meeting someone for coffee and looking super cool to going to a music festival and just adding some extras. I love how the combat boots contrast the pink feminine skirt look, and the padded shoulder helps make the outfit even more casual in a cool way.
The brunch with the girls look
Meeting with my sisters or girlfriends is always my opportunity to dress extra girly, so this is the perfect day to wear my mini pink skirt. I could totally wear it with a basic tee and pretty sandals, or adding a blazer is always a good idea.
The “let’s go on a date” look
I kept seeing this color combination of brown and pink, which gave me chocolate bar vibes. It was just such a nice outfit to watch. I thought a date would be a great occasion to wear a chocolate bar-inspired outfit. Otherwise, I think I would also wear the pink mini skirt with a button-down white shirt, some nice jewelry, and strappy sandals.
The “let’s keep it cool” look
My favorite look theme is trying to keep the outfit cool instead of sexy or cute, or at least recently, that’s my go-to. So, this outfit is definitely one of my favorites for the season. I think it’s the perfect way to wear my neutrals still and add a bit of color block fun.
The “let’s keep it casual” look
I love that for the past years wearing sneakers with skirts and dresses is a big thing, because it’s the most comfortable thing and you add the cool fashion factor on top of it. I’m always afraid to look shorter, though, so I super recommend these sneakers I found from UGG. They are like comfortable clouds and add height, which is a win-win.
Lastly, I think color blocking is a fun way to experiment with our outfits, and if you are a total neutral style lover, I will play around with color handbags. I thought a mini skirt is also a small way to color block because it is mini, and it won’t be striking when people look at your outfit if you are afraid of color like me.
I found some super cute finds that are loud in color but not in shape, and they will go perfectly with a minimalist style.
