I’ve been observing my favorite influencers, and why is it that fashion girls look so incredibly stylish even when wearing a simple t-shirt or coming out of the bed. So, I came up with ten simple tips that you can apply to look super stylish 24 hours.
I hope you love this post if you do, please don’t forget to subscribe to my email list at the end of this post, thank you!
Tip #1 What mom always told us
Keep your back straight; this is something I keep working on myself, and whenever I’m walking, and I forget to keep my back straight, I remember this costs absolutely nothing, makes me look more confident, slimmer, taller, and just more stylish, so why shouldn’t I do it?
Tip #2 Sunglasses
Whenever I tried to recreate a pose from an influencer, I noticed that my sunglasses face just didn’t look as stylish, so I reviewed all the sunglasses photos I had as inspiration and noticed that they didn’t put their sunglasses all the way through. If that makes sense? Like they place them in a way you can see their eyebrows, which I didn’t see in my photos. So maybe this is a tip everyone knows, and I wasn’t aware of? Either way, now I always make sure my eyebrows are visible, and I love my sunglasses photos.
Tip #3 Over-the-shoulders blazer
Putting your blazer over your shoulders gives me that vibes like I’m super confident, someone important, or I have an incredible gentleman-like husband who wanted to ensure I wasn’t cold. This is a tip I kept seeing on outfit photos I love, from wearing a night dress with super cute high heels to getting the more street style look, casual chic too. One thing I make sure of, though, is making sure the blazer is on the oversized style or literally grab your significant other’s blazer, brother, dad, someone bigger than you, rs, etc.
Tip #4 Delicate hands
Having delicate hands sounds hilarious/sarcastic, but it is something I’ve noticed not only in photos but in how charismatic people carry themselves. I’m, of course, attaching a mood board for inspiration cause you might be like, what on earth is this tip? It makes your pose photos more natural, more lifestyle-like, and feminine. In real life, I probably only try to apply this when I’m on a date with my husband because that is not happening when dealing with my kids, obviously.
# 5 Key season items
It is easy to get overwhelmed with all the clothes, products, and things we see on social media as inspiration, that we have no idea what should we buy for the season, and we just end up getting random items that we don’t know what to wear with or when. Well, I took a deep breath and analyzed all the outfits I love for the season from Pinterest, Instagram, Google, etc. Then I chose which ones I saw myself wearing and for what occasion. Then, I looked deeply at what items the photos had in common. For example, did a lot of them have black loafers? A basic white t-shirt? Finally, I chose the five items that were clearly repetitive on the outfits, and that way, I know which were the essential items I needed for the season.
Tip #6 Mastering Natural posing
This tip is related to the “delicate hands tip” and more like photo-focused, but I thought it’s a good one to mention because most of us don’t only want to look stylish in real life, but we also want those photos for memories of course. So doing a natural pose sounds easy, but for me, it’s been a challenge. I’m just camera awkward, I guess, but the more I practice, the less awkward it gets, and having that mental mood board where I remember what poses I like from inspirational photos, helps a lot when trying to mimic that.
#7 If in doubt, tuck it in
I think something average outfits have in common is when a regular length top (meaning no crop top, cute short, nor intentionally long) is not tucked in, and it might look like you just put on a top and a bottom just to wear clothes, and off you go. So whenever you are not sure about your outfit, it is good to keep that in mind. A simple tuck-in might do the trick and even have that longer legs illusion. Plus, you can play around with it, either doing the french style, half it, or doing an “inside” knot for a crop top look.
#8 Sleeves trick
If you don’t know this fashion hack, I’m so glad I’m the one who tells you. You know how cool you look when you push your sleeves up, but then you go out, and they keep coming down, and you just give on that look you were going it? Well, I simply put hair tights (I choose the wider ones) where it feels right and then hide them with the folds. It works amazingly for sweaters, blazers, and even jackets. Of course, rubber bands will work just as well if your hair tights are too small.
#9 Coffee is an accessory.
If you are a coffee lover like me, this tip will make it extra good. Coffee doesn’t only helps up look awake, but it’s a great excuse to buy for the cuteness too, especially if you are going for a city look. In addition, it works as a photo prop, making your whole outfit more stylish in real life. Weird but true.
#10 The truth and nothing but the truth
Lastly and most importantly, be confident with your unique self. First of all, it sounds like something everyone says, I know, BUT! If you really think about it, there is only one YOU, one of your kind; absolutely no one can replicate you. Yes, we take inspiration from our favorite influencers, so that means, together with your highly unique self and the imaginary inspiration mood board from fashion girls you love, you are forming something completely new, your own unique style with the ingredients you implemented. So be proud of that, and whenever you put together an outfit, think about that and walk and show it off accordingly.
This post was all about fashion girl tips I came up with from what I’ve observed and analyzed. It has helped me be more confident about my style, and I hope very much that it helps you with yours.
