After working on different areas of design, I decided to start a blog where I can have the freedom to do creative work that I genuinely enjoy. As much as the introvert I am, it’s in our human nature to share, and I want to embrace that.
Since I was a toddler, I started designing fashion dresses.
When I was ready for college, I went for graphic design instead of fashion because of my insecurities. (I know, I know)
After working in graphic design, I created a clothing line with minimal experience or skills in the fashion industry. I managed to sell it to many people I knew and small boutiques but then decided it was too much work too fast for the stage I was at the time in my life.
I created a fashion app where you can customize your clothes. Still, once again, I overestimated the amount of work and marketing budget I needed to make it happen, especially! Because in that period I gave birth to two babies! I am now learning not to overwork myself and find a balance between my family and my desire to work on creative projects in the fashion industry.
One of my favorite things is to come up with an outfit and feel that extra confidence whether I’m running errands or going to a fun event.
Truth, I can be very insecure, and I need the usual confirmation compliment about my look some days more than others. (I know, I know)
I share my love for fashion with my sister, and we are both exploring this blogging world together. Here’s her Instagram account: @marisol.val.m
