I’ve always been a bit hesitant about swimwear, as the word immediately translates to I have to work out before summer gets here, or “oh, it’s too late, it’s summer, and I didn’t work out. Well, after two pregnancies and lots of insecureness, I got tired of waiting and shopped for a couple of cute swimwear options. I’m more on the neutral and simple style, but I’d love to show you my swimwear options for this summer.
Lowback Swimsuits
I absolutely love a low-back swimsuit. I think it gives me retro vibes, and I love that I can wear it as a cute swimwear as top under my shorts and stroll the day without screaming I’m going to a pool later. I’ve had this black style for a long time, but I found a similar shape on Amazon in many different colors. So I’ve got the thin stripped one to spice it up on my wardrobe. Again, I’m not a very colorful or patterns swimwear kind of person, and this is definitely different for me. By the way, I’m always a bit nervous to order clothes from Amazon, but I totally approve of this one. I think the material is thick enough and looks super cute, so there’s no need to over-worry about accessorizing it. I will, of course, give you an update after wearing it a few times.
Taupe Bikini
Taupe is one of my favorite colors lately. I love that it is a mix of beige and pink rose-browneeeey (you know what I mean), and I couldn’t resist buying this style from Free People. I haven’t done 2-piece swimwear in a while, mainly because of my mom belly, but I think we are at a time when who cares? I had two babies, so I can’t look perfect. So I love how it fits, and I have already worn it on a staycation, in a fabulous hotel pool, and I can’t wait to bring it on a beautiful trip to a beach far away. I think this cute swimwear is my favorite of the post.
Asymmetrical Swimsuit
A nice elegant white swimsuit is a must-have for me. I’ve got this one from Revolve, and it never disappoints. The fit is so great, and the crossed detail doesn’t only looks super chic but helps hide that extra food I always end up eating in a good vacation restaurant. So yeah, it’s a win-win with this one. It looks classy but chic and has a nice amount of coverage without being boring.
High waisted bikini
I’ve been looking for a high waist bikini for a loooong time, and this year is the year when I get to try one. But, for some reason, I never find the right one because they are high-waisted; they are at risk of looking too covered or cute but not cool? If you know what I mean. So I am sharing all of the styles I have my eye on. These options are hitting the right spots for me, and I think it’s a style that I can wear with my kids around a look like a cute mom but still a good amount of sexy. So if you try any of these, I would love to know your thoughts, recommendations, or if you hate them.
Triangle Bikini
I’ve never been a triangle bikini kind of person, and I’m still nervous to try those. I don’t think my breasts are at their best after my two pregnancies, but I’ll keep looking for the triangle bikini style that could work for me, just to challenge myself a bit. So far, I found these, and I think they are super cool, but I wasn’t in love enough to order them. What do you guys think?
Knit Swimwear
Also, I think “knitted” swimwear or some texture can be kind of cute. I always wonder if they are comfortable enough or, again, I haven’t found the right one. I think it can give super cute bohemian vibes with a chill light coverup skirt. Definitely on my to-order for this summer list.
I used to go to Miami often in my past life when my husband had business there, and I regret not being more confident and exploding my love for fashion. I’ll be following Miami swimwear week for more inspiration this summer and will keep you guys posted with my takeaways.
Now! Cover ups! I have such a hard time finding the ideal ones for me. I don’t want to look like I got a generic cover up from the souvenir store last minute. I’ve always wanted to get more creative with this piece, and finding the balance between “creative” and my neutral style is difficult. Like I want the perfect amount of minimalist and unique all in a coverup. These are my finds!
I love a good collar shirt-like cover up, but I had to find the right one because last time, the one I wore was from my previous pregnancy, and it looked hugely oversized and not at all cute.
A nice cardigan one can do the job, and you can belt it for a more chic lunchtime before going to the pool situation. This one I have from a long time ago from Express, but I found these other ones I’d love to try.
Now, here are my more unique pieces, and I’m counting on you guys to try some of these with me, so we can decide if we like a more classic style better or all of them.
