If you are looking for valentines day ideas that aren’t so typical, this blog post is for you! After reading this, I would love to know which were your favorite valentines day ideas in the comments section below.
1 Mixology Online class, and make a signature drink you can make every year on Valentine’s Day
I think the idea of taking an online mixology class during Valentine’s Day isn’t only an amazing excuse to drink them all but an experience where couples giggle after the second drink, and I love the idea of creating a signature drink.
2 An act of love, like volunteering or creating care packages for homeless people
If you feel like doing something more meaningful this year, I know I do. I would do acts of love with my loved one, like volunteering for a good cause or creating care packages for the homeless. This can be such a sweet activity to do together, and at the end of the day, you could still have a one-to-one romantic dinner at home.
3 Somewhere with a fireplace Valentines day ideas
There is something very cozy and romantic about cabins, and in many places, you still have that Winter vibe in February, so this would be a perfect place for Valentine’s Day getaway.
4 Make a nice hike extra special Valentines day ideas
If you haven’t gone to nature lately with your loved one, this is a great day to get away from your routine, get some fresh air, do something healthy and enjoy beautiful views.
And, if hiking is something you do often, make it extra special by bringing a romantic picnic. I have seen so many ideas on how you can make a picnic extra cute, as simple as getting a bottle of wine with actual wine glasses, bread, and fruits. Then, to more elaborate ones, like extra cute pillows, a teepee tent, and candles, but maybe just for decoration, since in some hiking places, it is not allowed to have a fire.
5 Try a cuisine you never tried before
Even if you are a bit afraid of trying new cuisines, this can be an amazing day to be a bit more adventurous. Even if you end up hating the food, it will be an experience you had together and something to remember. You can laugh it off after and go to your favorite dessert place to compensate. Although I’m sure if you did your research right, I am optimistic there will be something you will love about the exotic food you chose because I think every culture can have excellent chefs.
6 When was the last time you played a game together?
From a classic board game to strip poker, if you haven’t played a board game in a while, this would be a great day to have some laughs and enjoy time together.
7 Dinner at Home Valentines day ideas
If you have been going to restaurants over the past years on Valentine’s day, this year it’s a great opportunity to have something more intimate and cook a meal together at home. You can always make it more special by adding candles to the table, trying a new recipe, include some sexy starters and desserts like chocolate-covered strawberries.
8 Book that trip you are always talking about
If having a trip on Valentine’s day doesn’t work this year for you, the actual planning of a trip can be super fun and exciting. After you guys enjoy a meal together, you can get to booking and planning, and this may become a tradition you do every Valentine’s day.
9 Recreate your first date
I have recreated our first date, and it is lovely to look back and see how far we’ve come. Next time we do this, I would like to add some fun and role-play or wear a similar outfit I was wearing that day.
10 Vision Board
A super romantic thing to do after having a nice meal and date together can be to create a vision board for your future and an excellent opportunity to get to know each other better.
11 Choose five different things to do each for the day
What if you don’t plan anything for Valentine’s day? And just jump in the car, and each of you takes turns deciding what to do or where to go? This activity can give you a day of adventure and a day to remember.
12 Paint a canvas together with your hands
Painting a canvas with your hands can be sexy and artistic, and of course, any excuse to add some wine or your favorite drinks.
13 Buy/Rent a projector to watch a movie outdoors with amazing movie snacks
Watching a movie outdoors can be such a romantic experience. You can make it super cozy with hot chocolate, a cute pillow, and blankets.
14 Getting massages is always a good idea
Getting a massage is absolutely always a great idea, but maybe you can make it extra romantic by giving them to each other or hiring someone to come to your home and get professional massages.
15 Make a playlist together while having pizza and wine
Making a playlist together sounds like something teenagers would do, but I am sure you will love it. This activity is more for the memories you have together, laughs, and good conversations.
16 Escape room or cool experience
Going somewhere you don’t usually go, like an escape room, can be super fun. If you feel like something more sophisticated, you can finally go to your local museum or maybe that temporary exhibition in your town.
17 All-you-can-eat chocolate
Buy your favorite chocolates and sweets, and have this day to eat without guilt while having long deep conversations.
18 Make a top ten list you like about each other while drinking a bottle of wine
Making a list of what you like about each other can be super romantic, cute, and even funny, and you can save the list for next year and revise it.
19 Dates Jar
What if each of you writes a few dates on pieces of paper and creates a dates jar? You can then pick a piece of paper and have that date not only for Valentine’s day but for your near future dates.
20 Share Bucket list
After enjoying a nice meal, whether you went to a restaurant or cooked a meal together at home, it would be very sweet to share your bucket list if you haven’t already or have an update on how it is going. You can make it extra cute by having a whiteboard or pieces of paper while sipping a nice drink like wine.
